Lib Dems stoop to new low

Personal attacks at Conservative Councillor show
Lib Dem's true colours

The personal, organised attacks towards Councillor Alex Adams display yet again the depths the Lib Dems will stoop in order to make sensationalist and misleading headlines.

This witch hunt has damaged Bournemouth politics. How can we encourage young energetic people with business experience, to step into public life and contribute to improving Bournemouth when they are treated like this? Alex knows more about the flaws in the Bournemouth planning process than most, and how many, but not all developers, have run amok over the last four years, taking advantage of a weak Lib Dem council that lacked the back bone to curb over-development.

Developers are like rivers, they will flood areas with dwellings and do untold damage to our community if unchecked. However, if controlled and guided, their impact can be contained, even harnessed to assist in retaining the character of an area. It is the Council that holds the reigns of power and it was the Lib Dems who dropped those reigns that lead to record development (over 1,000 new homes a year) over the past four years.

For the record Alex has done nothing wrong, has committed no crime, or broken any law. Election literature delivered during the local elections clearly covered his work experience which amongst other things mentioned that he was a builder, despite no obligation for any candidate to publicise previous employment.

If the Lib Dems want an example of deceit look no further than their own actions on election night, when they crept into the Town Hall, committing Bournemouth to another large development on our seafront in the shape of a casino, despite knowing full well the residents of Bournemouth were against it.
