Lib Dems approve over 1,000 new homes every year

Over development: strain on our infrastructure

With so little investment in Bournemouth's infrastructure many residents are worried about the huge number of extra homes being built each year, placing even greater pressure on our roads, transport and utility systems.

Bournemouth seen as an easy touch

Tobias Ellwood MP believes our town is being targeted by developers who realise their planning applications are unlikely to be turned down by the Council who are fearful that their decision might be successfully appealed and they may be left to pay substantial costs.

Reserve Fund to fight planning appeals

Tobias is calling for a reserve fund to be created from the windfall gained from the sale of the Yellow Buses. The fund would pay for the cost of any planning decisions overturned at appeal and help strengthen the resolve of the Council to be more critical as to which applications are approved.

Why build so many more homes?

The Lib Dem Council is building far in excess of what is deemed appropriate by Government targets. As the Council develop over 1,000 new homes in Bournemouth every year, with little investment in roads, transport or the sewage system, they threaten to erode the very character of our town.
